Event Overview
The event, hosted by the University of Tokyo, aims to explore how digital transformation (DX) and AI technologies are reshaping architecture, design, and urban planning on a global scale. Kitamura will deliver a keynote lecture from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at HASEKO-KUMA Hall in Bunkyo, Tokyo.
Keynote Topic: “AI in Architectural Design – Shifting Toward Bottom-Up DX”
In his talk, Naoki will discuss how AI and natural language technologies are transforming the architectural design process. Moving beyond the traditional top-down approach to digital transformation, he will highlight a “bottom-up” DX model, where designers themselves define challenges and develop their own AI-driven tools to enhance creativity and productivity.
The lecture will feature real-world case studies addressing issues such as productivity, quality assurance, and knowledge transfer in the architecture industry. Naoki will also introduce cutting-edge applications of AI for knowledge management, design requirement tracking, and automated quality checks.
Building the Next Generation of AI-Driven Designers
The session will conclude with insights into the skills and mindsets required for professionals in the emerging AI × BIM (Building Information Modeling) era, emphasizing the need for designers who can combine creative intuition with technological fluency.
